If your idea of "roughing it" means that valet service isn't available, you'll want this portable generator that you can carry anywhere you please. It provides the juice for the coffeemaker, hot plate, TV, laptop or a power tool (Not all at once, though). It kicks out 1200 Watts to start your appliance, then powers it at 1000 Watts continuous. The 2-stroke, 63cc engine has a recoil start and transistorized ignition, along with a single-phase brushless generator head and capacitor voltage regulator. Fill the 1-gallon tank and run the generator for 4.5 hours @ 1/2 load. Meets EPA standards (nature will love you for that).

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

It's a 2 cycle engine using gas/oil mix 50:1 putting off a mild amount of smoke & choking odor and it is much louder than a portable inverter generator. Otherwise it puts out plenty of juice to run a fan, credit card scanner, LED lights, etc. and is way cheaper than an inverter type.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

This is a compact, relatively light generator for charging batteries and low drain appliances such as a compact refrigerator or drill. I found it to have the surprisingly nice feature of returning to idle when there is no load. It has proven dependable, relatively easy to start, and very quiet for a two-stroke. My only problem was the defective 110 volt outlet that I have worked around by plugging a reliable extension cord into it, -- which, by the way, also offers extra outlets you will find essential. Offers many features for little money.

Having purchased two of the Model TG1200's in the past few months, we're having terrific results with them. We use one in our shop/garage and around the property and the other is used on our trucks for when we are on the road. We have used them for all sorts of needs, tool use mostly so far. We have recommend this portable generator to our friends & family.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

Lite weight, easy starting. Just the thing for power tools when running a half mile extension cord won't do. I keep mine in the bed of my John Deere Gator and use it to power saws, drills, metal grinder/cutter, and a small air compressor which fixes flat tires, operates pneumatic staplers, nail guns, and impact wrenches.. Also works great with the Remington Pole saw for trimming branches and trees

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I wanted a portable generator for light electrical needs in my shop. After delivery, I read the instructions and started the generator. I discovered I wasn't getting current to a power tool. I had to take the cheesy plug apart and found what I suspected. One of the electrical connector prongs was defective and not secure. After fixing the plug, I got current but the choke is so cheap, I find it impossible to keep it adjusted. The generator runs for a while and quits. I am really disappointed in this product. Spend the extra money and get a better quality generator.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

This is the greatest portable generator ever. I can now sew and watch t.v. at camp very cheaply. With the price of gas sky rocketing, I now have a great helper to let me us the power I need. This works fantastic, starts easy and not to loud. I would highly recommend this.
P.S.
I do occassionally give it up for my husband to use with his power trim saw.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

After several power outages in my neighborhood and listening to my wife freak out when we lost our frozen food. I decided we needed some sort of backup generator. But I am cheap and I want something small, because I don't have a lot of space. I took a chance on this one based on reviews and it has not failed me at all. I lent it to a friends during a power outage and it ran his sump pump. It's not the quietest generator like the Honda's but it works great and for the price I am extremely pleased.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I purchased this generator (based primarily on its great price) to use around the house in the event of power outages. It is easy to start and runs without too much noise. It has enough guts to run my kitchen refrigerator, garage freezer, or several lights and a fan or two. I have also used it on a church Father & Son camping trip to run a pig roaster rotisserie motor as well as some lights. It is compact and easy to store, and the oil/gas mix is no issue to me. It doesnt use much gas so having a couple gallons premixed is enough. I took the advice of another reviewer and purchased a power strip, as the plug panel is lightweight and doesnt seem like it will take any abuse. For the money, I dont know that there is a better value. I have recommended it to my friends and relations.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I bought one of these generators a year ago and am quite pleased. It runs my entire camper with no problem (furnace, water pump, lights, refridgerator) and is surprisingly quiet for a two stroke. I also run power tools around the yard(sawzall, drill, skillsaw). It can take a few pulls to start sometimes, but has always started and run great. On one occasion I noticed gas dripping from the horizontally mounted carb after I shut the unit off. Now I just turn the fuel petcock to Off and let it run out of gas when I am done, problem solved. I highly recommend this unit for light duty tasks around the house, and it is perfect for camping.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

decent value for the price. It is low wattage so remember to use low amp devices. Works fine for a battery charger for my race car, or for a drill or grinder. Its gets a little weak if the device pulls about 10 amps. A little hard to start in cold weather. No, make that very hard to start in cold weather.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

GREAT safety item for hiking and camping!
Often when you get lost deep in the woods you have to stand there for so many boring hours with a little pocket mirror rocking it back and forth to try to signal the rescue planes and helicopters.
This can be very tiresome and monotonous!
If instead you build a motorized electric mirror reflector rocker signaling device it can free up all those otherwise boring hours and allowing your tired arms to relax while the electric auto-mirror-rocker does all the work for you.
This great little gasoline generator seems Ideal... to power the electric motor on the auto-mirror rocker allowing you to go back to nature watching while waiting to be rescued.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I really like this little workhorse! Have used it for a long time in an extreme environment on the farm and it always starts up quickly, ready for work. I have put it on a trailer behind my ATV and pulled it around farm roads using it to power a Remington A/C powered pole saw to trim low hanging limbs and up to 8 inch limbs blocking the roadways. My Remington pole saw needs about 8 amps and the generator provides this easily, with up to 10 amps. It has always been easy to start, quiet to run, and easy to lug around from pickup bed to ATV trailer. Very much would recommend this to anyone who needs remote power for small farm tools, or room centric appliances.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I purchased two of these generators early in the summer. I used one for camping and when I traveled to remote areas with no electric. The small compact size and light weight makes it ideal for traveling. It does not make much noise when running, and if the wind is blowing you can hardly hear it at all. I have run it as much as 8 hours on a tank full of gas on a light load, although 5-6 hours is closer when trying to figure out how much fuel you might need to bring.
During a recent day long power outage at my home, I ran this unit for 24 hours powering my home refrigerator, satelite dish and LCD TV. I then took it over to a neighbor who did the same while he waited 6 more days to have his power restored. He averaged 6 hours per gallon of gas while powering his refrigerator, a couple of lamps at night, a radio and his cistern/water pump.
The second generator will travel with me to Canada early next summer where I will leave it with my friend to use at his remote cabin. His Honda generator works well but eats $6+ gallon gasoline. This unit should be able to power the lights and a TV/stereo for a fraction of the fuel the Honda consumes.
The bulit-in oil measuring cup in the gas cap lid makes it easy to mix the gas and oil at the correct ratio.
I did notice that if the fuel cap is fully twisted closed, the motor will fuel starve as I suppose there is no vent on the tank. So I caution you to try opening the cap 1/4 turn to prevent this from happening. I probably have 150+ hours on this generator and it purrs like a big cat when running. It will usually start on the second or third pull of the rope. I try to run the fuel tank dry if I will not be using it for a long period of time.
I would highly recommend this product for anything but the largest home freezers that might take more then the 8 amps that this unit will produce.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I bought this generator the last minute to get ready for Hurricane IKE and I have been impressed by it's performance. Very inexpensive compared to other brands of equal wattage, extremely fuel efficient, starts at most 3 pulls in a cool morning, very lightweight, and very capable since at one point I even ran our 1000 watt microwave with it.
It says only 4.5 hours of continous use at 1/2 load but I ran the thing for almost 5 days straight with maybe 1 hour breaks so don't let that fool you, this little beast will surprise you in time of need.
Was able to run a 53" screen TV, satelite, 2 fans, coffeemaker, and charge the laptop. It was even able to keep my freezer going every day for at least 4 hours which put it at almost full load with everything else disconnected.
Heck, I recommend this even as a back-up when a large generator needs a break.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I bought this based on its low price and the many positive reviews. My only concerns were Northern Tools' "no returns" policy and the few reviewers who got theirs delivered damaged. I'm happy to say that mine was delivered in perfect condition. I gave it a try for the first time today and it started right up on the third pull. No complaints from me! It is a bit heavier and noisier than its Honda competitor, but for less than 1/4 the price it's a bargain. Highly recommended.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

Picked this up for tailgating at football games, Nascar races and maybe camping use.

Got a good workout the first week I bought it at a four day music festival. Ran a small TV set, fan and lights without a single hiccup. Ran all weekend and used just under 2 gallons of fuel. Started on the first or second pull every time.

Quiet (only 6db louder than the much more expensive Honda) and unobtrusive. Got lots of questions on it from passers by.

I would highly recommend this little guy to anyone looking for portable power.

This is a great little generator. I throw it in the cart on the back of the 4-wheeler & use it with an electric pole-saw to trim trees all around the property. I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet this little machine is. I expected to hear something that sounded like a chainsaw when I fired it up but this thing just purrs. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

This generator starts and performs well. Some things to consider:
It's two stroke so it smokes a bit, but it's not any more than a chainsaw or string trimmer. It's quieter than other two stroke lawn equipment, but not as quiet as the high-end mini generators from Honda (they are hard to beat and a lot more money).
My generator had a minor issue. The fuel fitting on the bottom of the tank was damaged during installation. This fitting has a screen on the inside of the tank to block debris that may get into the tank. The screen was crushed and restricted fuel intake causing the generator to quit after a few seconds of running. It also leaked.
I took out the fitting and removed the screen, then put thread sealer on the fitting and re-installed it. It works fine now.
This issue aside, I still think the product is a good value for the money. It's half the size of my coleman generator and provides enough power for most light duty power tools, lights, chargers, etc.

I have used this generator to build a barn in a remote location and love it. It starts easily, is virtually maintenance free and runs reliably. I've never had a problem with it. And it's so small that it's easy to move around. Also seems to run for a long time on relatively little gas. I'm very, very happy with this generator. If you only need to run light tools and don't want to spend much, look no further.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

This little generator packs a powerful punch. I bought it to run a saw but when we lost our power I tried it and was amazed at what it would do. I had our full size refridgerator/freezer, a 55" TV, the satellite dish, our computer and satellite modem, and a lamp plugged into it and it and this generator powered it all with no problem. I actually believe it would have ran a little more than that. The best thing is after running it for 4 hours I went to refuel it and could only get a quart of gas in it before it filled it back up. It only holds a gallon anyway. If you are looking for something you can carry around with one hand, a lot of power and something that doesn't cost a lot to run, this is the one you want to get. I 100% recommend this to anybody.

We bought this generator to take to our 5 acre homesite that does not as yet have power or water. We needed something strong enough to run our air compresser with all the tools needed to build a fence (nail gun, staple gun, paint sprayer and of course the radio! We also needed it to power the camper we live in while there. It was not only strong enough to do all this, it's extremely quiet and light enough at about 50 pounds to easily move it around the fenceline. 2 of the 3 people we have recommended it to have already purchased, and the third has it on his wishlist. We have found nothing at all to dislike about this generator.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I really like this generator.
*it is small enough to store indoors so it stays in nice shape
*it is light and easy to move to where you need it
*it is small enough that the SO can start it if I am not around
*it is pretty quiet
*It puts out enough power to keep our living room lit up in a blackout
*No fluids to change
The downsides..
*Requires 2 cycle mixture (not a big deal for me as I have other 2 cycle toys)
*The marking on the gas petcock is hard to read if you do not see well
*It seems to take a long time to run out of gas when you turn the petcock off.
*The build quality could be better, the panel where the AC outlet is seems a bit
weak for example, but you should not break it if you are gentle with it.

I always wanted something small to carry to a workplace for power. Hated extension cords as an additional burden. This little unit runs my skill saw without a stumble. Have used it to run a freezer on a trailer for hours with no problem. Larger generators are cumbersome and harder to start. This TG-1200 is light weight and provides enough wattage to do any job you may want. It is also quiet and can be used with amateur radio deployments. The price is right!

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

This generator is a good cheap source of power if you only need a low amount of wattage. It's great for a few lights and a fan and a television and sattelite receiver. My wife used it recently at a cooking competition to power her electric rice cooker and she cooked rice all day on about a gallon of gas. It's not the quietest generator out there, but it cranked up on the second pull right out of the box after adding fuel, and for the price it's a pretty good buy.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

Seems to work AOK. Only thing is that it seems to need a primer like allot of other 2 strokes. Unless I manually prime it, it takes many pulls(hard on the rope). When this happens I just drop a teaspoon or so of gas(carefully) in the combustion chamber by pulling the spark plug, putting the plug back and it fires over fast and long enough that it's the off and running!!!
Good value for the money.

This generator is a good buy. There were other small generators(around 1000 to 1500 watts) that I looked at before buying this one, but everything else was around $400 to $500. That was way out of my price range for such a small generator. So I decided to go with this one, although it is a 2 stroke it doesn't smoke very much and is relatively quiet. I once ran two 500 watt work light and another time a 60in. plasma tv and two 60 watt bulb lamp and it had no problem keeping up with my electrical needs. I would recommend this generator for some one that would need it for a backup (run a refrigerator when the power is out) or for various ocassional uses.

Once I replaced the broken spark plug it shipped with (don't try platinum plug; not enough), it started on the second pull. Oil gas mix, ran for just under 4 hours (I didn't top off the tank.) Tailgating it ran a small TV and a string of lights, but seemed up to more if needed. Reletively quiet, but not silent. I had wanted to get a Yamaha, but for the same cost as more than 3 of these, I like it.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I tried using a fuel stabilizer in my gas and the generator didn't start or run very well on it. It would only put out about 300 watts. Above that level the speed and voltage became unstable. Replaced that gas with some straight 87 octane and it ran fine. Put the gas with stabilizer in my car and the car ran fine. So I guess the little 2-stroke is just kinda sensitive. Otherwise it's working pretty well. Actually I would recommend it for a light portable unit. For more stationary use, like home emergency power, I'd get something bigger with a 4-stroke engine.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

Just FYI, I use small engine equipment in the remote areas of Central and South America where generators are required and fuel is substandard to say the least.
I will point out that more $$$ spent does not mean better equipment and less failures. Most of my equipment is NOT major brand but cheaper, less known products as when in a remote area, parts are simply not available at any cost.
After reading reviews posted, I purchased this unit and, based on the reviews concerning hard starts and moderate fuel consumption, I tested it using a couple of oil and gas additives I distribute.
The unit was run 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 6 weeks with a load of approx. 8 amps and 600 watts.
I found that, after the first 20 hours of running, fuel effeciency rose from 2.5 hours per to tank to about 3.5 hours per tank, or about 40%: extremely fast for a break-in period.
No break-downs, no plug fouling, and very quiet.
I also noticed ease of starting as the hours added up.
I expect 5000+ hours of life using the additived mentioned; this is typical using these products with weed eaters and other two-stroke/ four stroke engines.
I would reccomend this product along with proper maintenance as with any other piece of equipment.
Use a power strip and avoid over use and you should have no problem.
Another great benefit for my use-- can be packed as check-on luggage when travelling.

I looked at this unit in the store and on line for several months. I ask about maintenance issues they may have had on returns and decided to buy one. I have found that it performs every bit as good and a lot better than I thought it would. It's light weight and so small it fits wherever I want to store it. I was also glad to hear how quite it is. It didn't hurt that blue is my favorite color. i'm well please with it and have even considered buying a second one. At 18 amps it runs most of my small hand tools.

I bought this generator on a whim because it was very inexpensive, however I find myself putting more hours on this unit than my home backup. This unit is perfect for camping, hunting trips, lake trips and any outdoor activity. The unit is very lightweight and I leave it in my truck as a just in case I need it option. I did not see it in the specs but the unit also has a 12 volt output for charging auto batteries as well.

I bought this generator online and shipping was fair and fast. Living high in the Smoky Mtns I wanted to be safe. Well it came in handy this past week with the big snow storm. We lost power and I started it up, with minutes we were watching TV again. Out on the front deck with the door closed you can hear it running but not too loud. I didn't want the whole house generator, just a good fuel economy one. It ran for 3 hours before the power came back on. I figured it used 1/2 gallon of gas.
We have plenty of firewood for heat, a two burner propane campstove and a Charbroil propane BBQ, for cooking. This is just the final part of the emergency supplies. I ran a 28" color hd TV, the Direc TV Satellite, and two 60 watt lamps. The only thing I noticed is that since the satellite receiver also powers the dish components, It wanted to be turned on before turning on the TV. Next time I'll try just a 13" tv. But it ran like a champ. Thanks Northern. Made the evening better. Rick

It started by the 3 pull every time and is quite and very easy on gas. Had a dead battery on the four wheeler used it to jump it . For the price you can't beat it. If you have any commonsence and dont overload it is great for only a 1000 watt. This works great for the fish house also.

I purchased this unit for use in our Jr. Dragster race trailer, knowing that it probably would have limitations. I was pleasantly surprised. It runs all the lights in the trailer, the furnace & a small battery charger all at the same time!! The only thing that it will not run is my air compressor, but I knew that this was probably not possible. We even used it to run a fairly large coffee maker on the last race of the season. (it was 38 degrees that day) I would Highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a small inexpensive power unit. I had intentions of using it to power my fish house this winter, but the ice is so poor, I have not put my house out this year, so I cannot report its use for this application. But based on its performance this summer I have no reason to believe that it will not work well for this also.

This is a great product. Shipping was a little costly, and when we got it, there was a little problem with an oil link and a screw that was not turned tightly enough. In addition, the sparkplug was broken so we could not start the generator. At first we were going to send it back, but after I called the company and got the reassurance that this was an option, we decided to give the generator a thorough review and that's when we found the sparkplug. Once that was fixed, it started right up and hasn't been a problem since. We've taken it camping and it was a comfort to us during the winter in case of power failure. It's light enough that I can pull the cord to get it started, or carry it out to the woods when I'm running electric power equipment without asking for the assistance of my boyfriend. When my neighbor across the lake saw how easy it was for me to operate, she asked me about and I told her to get one, and she bought one as well. This is a perfect generator for a female to start (without electric start) and to take camping. A bit loud but you can get used to it.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I would just like to start off by tell you a little about my background. I have been an Emergency Operation Field Worker for the last 14 years.
This is why I had bought this Generator. I have been to many of scenes over the years, but I have allways wanted and needed a small portable generator to give me power so that I may use a 500watt portable light. I have tried to use power inverters in the past but all I found out was I had to run my truck just to keep the power up!
I love having this Generator because it lasts up to 4-5 hours on a single tank load and that is very helpful to me. No more wasting fuel from my V-8 truck just to keep the power inverter going.
I have also used the generator to charge my portable radio batteries, which comes in so handy in the field!
It is a little noisy but it's managable. Just put it at least 15-20 feet away and you will be fine! The other down side to this Generator is the Gas and Oil mix, and there is only One (1) 120v outlet! All you need to fix that problem is to run a multi-strip. But make sure Not to exceed 1000watts!
All in all I really do like this generator! and you can't beat the PRICE!!!

I purchasd this generator and immediately had problems. First of all, once I got home and opened the box, it looked like someone dropped the generator. Gas tank was sheered right off the unit. Took that one back and got a new one. Could never ever get the darn thing started. Only way it would fire was to put gas directly into the carboratur. As soon as that burned off, it was off.
Took it back to and they looked at it. As best they could tell, the gas valve is faulty. Switched out with another new generator. Before I left, I had them try to start it to see if it worked. Same problem - atleast we think. After 15 minutes of their mechanice trying to start it, I gave up and bought another brand.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

When I bought this generator I expected it to be cheaply made, but I bought it to use in a cargo trailer that I take from job to job. When I unpacked it I was surprised at how sturdy it was.
Believe it or not, right after I gassed it up and started it, (started the 2nd pull) the power went out in our house. (We live in a rural area and everytime the wind blows we lose power.) I hooked up a 12 ga extension cord to it and ran it in the backdoor.
I hooked up a commercial coffee maker and it started to heat right up. The generator was putting out more than 115 volts, and it was high on the amperage too.
I unplugged the cord and let the generator run about 15 minutes, then check the output with a meter. It was almost dead on to the specs. I hooked the coffee maker back up and it ran fine.
I mounted this on the tongue of my cargo trailer and ran a wire from it up under the trailer and through the floor. Inside it's hooked to a surge protector with 6 outlets. Now whenever I use the trailer, I fire up the generator and run the lights (2 two bulb strips). I also charge batteries for cordless power tools.
I would recommend this to anyone. I've seen almost the exact same generator (with a different name) for sale for over $300. At this price, it's a steal!

This little generator is wonderful. I recently went camping with my travel trailer and found out I had a bad cell in my battery. This generator was enough to keep my battery voltage up to kick on the refridgerator and heater for almost three days with only 5 gallons of gas running almost non-stop. It is very quite when running < 1/2 load and is not much louder running my 650W coffee pot. Instructions are very clear and it started right out of the box on the second pull! Recommendations: 1. front panel could be secured better. 2. gas tank could be larger so it could run through the night on one tank. For the price it can't be beat!

Great for Farm Chores, Not for Electronics

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

A friend of mine purchased one of these units to do a couple of farm chores, mainly building a fence and repairing a remote hog shed.

The generator was a little on the noisy side compared to the calm sounds of a Honda EU1000i. However, the generator worked well for charging a couple of battery packs and running a portable radio. Later in the evening we also used it for a 500W halogen light.

We tried to run a Skill Saw (R) but, we were unable to get the worm gear drive to turn over. Required to much power.

I was curious as to how clean the AC was in frequency. Being a 2 Stroke I assumed that it would not be to good. Using an Electronics Oscillioscope I tested the frequency at 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 percent loads. I found at a 0-25% load (incadescent lamps) that the generator held a tolerance of about 60 Hz, normal AC frequency. However, at 50% the generator began to exhibit a loss of stabilization, at 75-100% I would not recommend using this generator for computers or communications equipment. The generator exhibited a loss of frequency from 55-75 Hz as the generator attempted to compensate for the heavier loads.

Great generator for power tools, but not so great for electronics that require clean AC.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

Bought 2 after being without power for a few days. Has just enough power to run a modern fridge or small freezer, but not both at once, as fridges / freezers need a huge shot of power to start up. In fact one of these ran the fridge along with a small fan and compact florescent light and portable tv with no problem. As it's a two stroke engine it's very easy on the fuel and lightweight. The downside is you have to mix oil in the gas. The upside is it uses very little fuel and runs a long time on a gallon of gas, is relatively quite and is quite easy to carry and store. May be an advantage to buy two or more of these and put them where they are needed rather that one larger one. Starts easily and runs reliably. Much quieter then the neighbors very noisy (and annoying) 4 stroke generator.

As an Equipment Manager for a five star resort I'm always looking for something to help our crew and property. These (3 of them) are used by various engineers for a multitude of tasks without so much as a glitch. They're reliable, light weight, easy starting and fuel thrifty. This is one product I wholly endorse and will continue to purchase.

I bought this little generator to take on a camping trip in the Colorado mountains. I live in Missouri, and once I got it, I started it, and ran it for an hour. It was quiet, smooth running, easy to start. The test would be if it could run in high altitude.... to be honest, I didn't think it would be very good. We camped in altitudes higher than 11,500 feet, and this little generator, started on the second pull, and ran for me FLAWLESSLY! It is easy on fuel. A super nice rig, at a super nice price!

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

This generator is wonderfuly simple, and worked like a charm out of the box. It failed to start on a campout though. When I got back I called the 800 number in the owner's manual, and Eastern Tool was wonderful. I had determined the faulty part, and rather than ship it back, they mailed me both parts in the ingnition sequence. It was a surprisingly wonderful customer service experience. I strongly advise going online and registering it with Eastern Tool once it arrives since Northern Tool does not warranty generator sales unless you buy their warranty too. Despite the problem I had with it, I would certainly, and already have, recommended it to others. Especially with such wonderful customer service from Eastern Tool.

After reading the reviews and doing a little research i decided to take the chance and buy one. I am very satisfied!! It started on the second pull, is quieter than i expected and packs plenty of power for my needs. Considering the closest competeter is over $500.00 what a deal. The outlet is cheap and not well mounted but with a little TLC it works.

This little generator is the right wt. and price for small jobs. It can be toted around a job sight to run anything form a sawzall to a large vacuum. We carry it up on porches and staging when necessary since it's only 40 lbs. It's as noisy as our bigger gen, but who cares at this price.

You're not going to beat this price! I looked everywhere, and this is a great price.

The generator's not bad either ;-). I just wanted a little something to power one circuit if the power goes off, and this was just the right size.

It arrived well-packed...I gassed it up...it started on the first pull. I feel like I got a great deal -- well worth all the research and comparison shopping I did.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I purchased this portable generator for a friend in Haiti, where power distribution is almost non-existent. We were both very pleased with the performance of this generator. Mt friend used it to run his refrigerator, and lights so his kids could do their studying. As the purchaser, I was very pleased with the price.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

It not a H or a Y brand, but for 1/4 the price it will does the job just fine. I had a little trouble staring it, but once I read the instruction and turn the switch to "ON", it started with one pull.

The only real complaint I have it would be nice if it had an oil injector system so you did not have to premix.

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

I brought this generator to the Bahamas, where electric power is unreliable, and unavailable in some locations. I'm building a shed in the woods where it is unavailable. This relatively low power (1200 W MAX) generator has been able to run all my power tools and cordless rechargers, very quietly and efficiently. It also is capable of running my small portable refrigerator, television, stereo, and just about anything else I need. I have a 350 W Honda that I bought several years ago, that cost me much more. I don't know where else you could get this much value for your money. I have two of them for myself, and have bought two more for friends. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Comments about Kotulas 1200 Watt Portable Generator:

This little generator is a wonderful little tool for camping and flounder gigging. It is very quiet and great quality for the price. Others it's size were 3 x as much in price and same, if not less in quality. If this falls overboard I wouldn't be as devastating as a $750.00 Yamaha. I have shown this to everybody that has come over (which is a lot of people, I work in a fish house). There are several people that will be ordering one of these generators after seeing mine.

This generator looked like a great deal. Unfortunately, when I received it and pulled the start cord for the first time, just to get a feel for it, the cord pulled out and would not return. Overall, the generator looks to be reasonably well construced and an excellent value. I will need to return, exchange, or get this repaired before I can use it for the 1st time.

This isn't a bad generator for the money. Not that quiet, very poorly constructed, but very cheap, and seems to put out power.

for this price, I can sleep fine at night, knowing that if it is stolen, I won't cry.

Still will fill my power needs for my camper (w/o AC of course.) I have a bgger Chinese Genny for that purpose.

For the money this little guy cant be beat!!! Starts easy, runs for 6 to 8 hrs on a tank of gas, super quite, I use it on my travel trailer when camping to charge the batterys back up, and it has enough juice to run all the 120 volt outlets, TV,Refridgerator,Out side lites. You cant go wrong with it!!! Many Name brands the same size cost between $500.00 and $750.00. For that price you can buy five of these.Great little Gen.
