I am very happy with this purchase, so is my husband. The steel is staniless and rustless. We like the substantial construction that is user friendly with the weight and the smooth edge. The set looks great and classy unlike the filmsy eversharp type. Sharpening is easy with the provided sharper. Do not put them in the washer, the drying will cause damages to the non-metal handles.

This knife set provides most of the cutlery tools needed in my kitchen. The only item it lacks is a bread knife. The forged knives have plenty of weight to assist when chopping and they are well balanced. The knives arrive passably sharp but will benefit from additional sharpening. My last knife set stored in an upright block that prevented knives from being pulled from the block when it was under a cabinet. This set can stay well back on the counter and still provide knife access. The slots in the knife block are a good bit larger than the knives they hold but that's not been a problem. The steak knives are stamped rather than forged but are adequate. Overall a very good value. This knife set will meet my needs for many years.
