has been great to use to clean out in tight areas in the back yard, where it would be difficult to back up a truck to. Also is great for quick moves to relocate trailors, boats, etc.

Until I acquired the trailer dolly I always needed an additional body to assist me in moving it from the garage to the patio. Being one not prone to asking neighbors for help, I would wait until my son, who lives quite a distance away, made his weekly visit. Having the trailer dolly has eliminated the need for a second person. I can now maneuver my large, somewhat bulky, pop-up camper to any place where it can be accessible for cleaning or hitching up to for a camping trip. Free at last!

I have a few trailers sharing a small space these days. I am constantly moving one, out of the way of another. I'm getting old and was having trouble moving the heavier ones, usually waiting for help from others. Not anymore. Now, I zip around, trailer in tow, moving them whenever and where ever I want - alone. Now if I could just find some products that would make similar improvements in my hearing, memory, shucks, my whole body . . . What a glorious day that would be.

Comments about Kotulas Heavy-Duty Trailer Dolly - 600-Lb. Capacity:

This would be good for a SMALL trailer (with no tongue wheel), not for a med. to large trailer. I'm using it with a pop-up camper and is limited for this use. The ball needs to be about 3" higher and it needs tires about 2" to 3" taller. With the camper all the way down the dolly will not lift the tongue of the ground with a wheel on. Had to use a floor jack to lift up the tongue, take of the wheel and then use dolly. When done I had to jack it up, remove dolly & install wheel and let down with jack. If dolly was 5" to 6" higher at the ball this would not be necessary. I had given thought to getting taller wheels BUT the axle is 1" and that makes getting inexpensive taller wheels almost impossible.

purchsed the trailer dolley as a new home gift for daughter and son in law. My son in law has used it very often in the last two weeks, and has been very impressed with the ease with which that the boat trailers and utility trailers can be moved around. This truly is a back saver and makes the task of moving trailers around much simpler. I would reco this to anyone.

This is a great tool to have. This is the only way to move trailers around. It will save your back. With this little gem you can safely and accurately put your trailer into the tighest spot without fear of damage. Tires roll easy over many ground surfaces. I've used it on concrete, my yard (grass), dirt, gravel. Worth the money if you're always moving something with a tongue around (boat trailer, utility trailer, camper, motorcycle trailer, snowmobile trailer).

As I get older, with added age comes more wisdom. I recently purchased a 5'X8' enclosed trailer. Trying to move this trailer while empty was a snap, but as I loaded the trailer it was harder for this old man to move. The Trailer Dolly has made it much easier to move around even on the lawn area of my home. Assembly only took a few minutes. This is not the first product I have purchased from Northern, or will it be the last.

Comments about Kotulas Heavy-Duty Trailer Dolly - 600-Lb. Capacity:

Dolly is rated for 600# but only in a straight line. If you maneuver the trailer at all the tires are not strong enough to handle the load. Tongue weight on my trailer is 250# and in a turn the inside tire is stressed to such a limit that the tire rolls and brakes the seal around the wheel, causing the tire to go flat. Larger/stronger tires would correct the situation.

I can't say enough good about this! I use it to move my wood splitter around, and the difference is night and day! What used to be a chore for me and my two bigger boys is now an easy chore for any two of them. I'm finding it so easy I now can move my splitter to the bigger wood, instead of trying to move the wood to the spitter.

The only improvement I can suggest is an adjustable height. It works fine as is, but would be even better with an adjustable height.

Great and easy to use piece of equipment. Put it together in 10 minutes with little mechanical ability. Without this I couldn't get my trailer in and out of the back yard because the truck is too wide to fit thru the gate on my fence. I hook it to my lawn tractor and it works like a charm pulling it to the back yard and back out again. Looked all over for one and Northern tool is the only place I could find it.

Satisfied with dolly. I use it to move my 5x8 utility trailer. I don't have to unload my 4 wheeler. With the dolly I can move the trailer, saving time and my back.
I also use it to move my 5x8 V-nose covered motorcycle trailer. The weight of this trailer is pushing the limit on the dolly. But it is still easier to move using the dolly than manually lifting the trailer.
One suggestion to better the dolly. Wider tires. Having wider tires would make it better going across the yard. Dolly does great on concrete or pavement, in grass the narrow tires make it hard to push or pull your trailer.

This is the handest little tow that i have used. So far, it has handled all of my trailers as i move them around my shop. I have yet to try it on my older model, heavy, camper trailer. The tires could be a bit bigger to handle heavy loads, but I am happy with the tow dolly.

Assembly was REAL easy. Directions are clear, all tools needed are included.

I bought two of these. I use one at work to move trailers around our tight driveway/parking areas. I have to go around a building to get to the larger side of the storage yard which is impossible to do when the trailers are attached to a truck. The second one I use at a lakehouse to load and move jetskies around. This easly moves 2 large jetskies on a large trailer with a box on it. I pull in, detach from my truck, grab this bad boy, turn the whole trailer around and back it into the small garage to clean and tune up.

Control with this cart is outstanding.
Weight distribution is perfect. Everything has been very well balanced.
Small enough for storage. You can turn the thing upwards against a wall and never notice it.

HIGHLY recommend to anyone that has a trailer.

I purchased this to move a utility trailer. The instructions on how to put the trailer dolly aren't that great, but you don't really need them anyway. It takes only five bolts or so. It went together quickly and works great! I purchased a 2" ball to fit my trailer. If you do have a trailer that requires a 2" ball make sure you get the 2" ball with a 3/4" shank or it won't fit.

I highly recommend this trailer dolly. I wish I had purchased one years ago.

The heavy duty trailer dolly moves small trailers around with ease. I purchased it to move a 12 foot utility trailer around with. I also use the dolly to move an 18 foot center console boat and a pop up camper trailer. The center console is a load for the dolly, but it handles it ok. It moves the utility trailer and the pop up camping trailer around easily. I would recommend this dolly to anyone needing to move small trailers around. The only negative is that I wish it had larger tires on it.

Works well. I would recommend that the product be offered with the customer's required ball size. It came with a 1 7/8 ball with a 1 inch dia attachment and I needed a 1 1/4 inch dia attachment for the 2 5/16 ball I use. It would be better with a little larger tire also.

Comments about Kotulas Heavy-Duty Trailer Dolly - 600-Lb. Capacity:

I thought my trailer would hitch on tightly, so I could pull hard to get it rolling. If I pull too hard the wheels slip out from under it a bit. Once I get the trailer rolling it works like a charm though. It's a lot easier than trying to use my car to get the trailer in and out of storage. I used to have to lift and pull it, much to heavy with anything in the trailer.

This makes moving my trailer around so much easier. I have a small 6X8 cargo trailer, and moving the trailer around the yard/garage with the dolly is a breeze. I've moved the trailer without a dolly, which is doable, but not at all easy. If you have a trailer and are even thinking about a dolly, you can't beat this item and you can't beat the price. Highly recommended.

Unsure about durability. Lots of nuts and bolts to work loose. I suggest you build it using locktite, or replace the nuts with locknuts.

One thing to consider- the ball is small- but it seems to work fine on any size coupler.

Other than that, it really does make it easy to move trailers around in tight spaces, as long as the ground if fairly firm.

Comments about Kotulas Heavy-Duty Trailer Dolly - 600-Lb. Capacity:

I've used this to manage a couple of U-Haul 4x8 box trailers in the process of an interstate move. I used it at the pickup-end to position the trailer right in front of the door I wanted to load from. It held the trailer in place (with wheel chocks) while I loaded 1500 lbs. of boxes. When loaded, I was able to pivot the trailer a few feet to place it in a good location for connecting to the SUV. I would not have been confident of my ability to move the trailer any more than that with the dolly, but a few feet was all I needed at the time.

On the delivery end, I used it to turn the emptied trailer in its own length in a one-lane, gravel drive, so I could hook up without delay and take off to turn the trailer in.

Assembly was simple and quick, and all the necessary parts were included.
I expect to use the dolly any time I want to move a single-axle trailer to make life easier.

Don't let the 600 pound rating fool you. This tool can handle a reasonably loaded utility trailer with ease. I have a single axle 5 x 12 utility trailer and with 2 dirt bikes, tools, 2 mega-coolers, spare tire, and misc gradening equipment I can push this into my garage with little effort. It is effortless to maneuver and can get you into some tight spaces with ease. A must for the person who has to struggle to position a trailer for storage or towing. Only issue is with the tires, they don't seem to hold air pressure for an extended period, but on the plus side you can pump these up in minutes using a conventional hand operated tire pump.

This 600 lb. total capacity trailer was the second trailer dolly I ordered. The first dolly came from a well know company, and cost $20 more. Upon arrival the very flimsy box had broken open and the hardware pack was missing. After waiting a week for the replacement hardware pack I sent it back. After thoroughly researching trailer dollies on the web I found the one from Northern Tool. I received it in less than a week, in a heavy duty box, all parts were inside, and the metal parts and tires were heavier duty than the first dolly I had received. It was put together in about 5 minutes and moves my Carson utility trailer with no problem.

My 1st Trailer Dolly is still in use with my enclosed motorcycle trailer. I can pull the trailer (empty) across the lawn alone. Makes it easy to squeeze into a tight space too. I was so impressed I bought a 2nd for my nephew for his skidoo trailer.
Go for this "heavy duty" model. All Trailer Dolly's are not created equal. Cheaper models offer flimsy solid tires and buckle under stress. This one is made of heavy steel, nice inflatable tires and makes turning a trailer around a breeze. Got a tight space you want to tuck your trailer into? Try this.

BTW: Norther Tool & Equipment is great to do business with.

I have a poorly balanced trailer with too much huge tongue weight for an old man. The dolly picks up the trailer, moves it easily to the car and allows me to attach it all without lifting the tongue more than 1"( the tongue ends up at the same height as the hitch when I I roll the trailer into position to attach it.) I was very surprised and satisfied with this dolly. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to use my trailer, but now it's easy.

Comments about Kotulas Heavy-Duty Trailer Dolly - 600-Lb. Capacity:

This is a great item if you have to move a "single axle" trailer around. I use it to move my 6' x 12' enclosed trailer around in my driveway and it's been a life saver. I can just pull in, unhook the trailer loaded with motorcycles and pull or push it anywhere I want, by myself. Saves me from having to back down my very long driveway that has no room to turn around a trailer in. The weakest point on the dolly is the wheels. If you attempt to move a tandem axle trailer, forget it. The wheels will collapse in on themselves. I tried to move my "unloaded" 16' flat bed trailer with this dolly and it would not do it. Even though the tongue weight was less than 600 lbs. you could not move the trailer, rims would start to bend/collapse even with tires fully inflated. If you have the proper air pressure in tires and use it on single axle trailers it is well worth the money!!

I've always had lots of trailers and boats over the years and just muscled things around as the need arose. Even herniated myself once pushing a big boat trailer around - an unfortunate reminder that I'm no longer as strong, or young as I once was. Anyway, can't say that I'd recommend going that route to anyone unless you like the feeling of intense pain. So, a smarter me read the reviews of this device and was still skeptical about whether this thing had the chutzpah to handle serious loads. And I was particularly worried about reports that some had experienced rim/tire blow out issues. Gotta tell ya - I have used mine for three months now to move my trailer mounted hydraulic boom lift, two different large boats, a camper and a snowmobile trailer. Suffice it to say it has seen some pretty beefy loads in that short amount of time and there were no indications that I was pushing it to its limit. In short, I have no regrets, and in fact, plan to pick up another one for my vacation home. The only bewildering thing is why ever did I wait so long to buy one?

I received a wood playhouse from one of the neighbors. It sat on my trailer for four months (weather problems made me wait) in my driveway. I am sure the other neighbors were as sick of looking at this as I was. A buddy was going to come over with a Bobcat so we could move it into my backyard. Terrain wouldn't allow me to do it any other way! The day he was going to be there he of course, couldn't make it, but suggested this trailer dolly. I ran down a picked it up. This was very easy to essemble, easy to use and well worth the money. It worked great, I hooked up to the trailer and moved it around the obstacles, down hills, up hills, and through my back gate into my backyard where it is now! I plan to have the rock/sand done in the spring so my boys will be able to use their new playhouse! I now can use this to move my trailer around also!
Great Deal and a must have, if you have any trailer. (The buddy says he bought an adaptor and moves his fifth wheel around with it!)

THIS COUPLED WITH A CONVERTABALL MAKES FOR A GREAT COMBINATION. IT ALLOWS YOU TO CHANGE THE BALL QUICKLY TO ACCOMADATE ANY TRAILER YOU WANT TO MOVE. IT'S EASIER AND QUICKER FOR ME TO USE THE DOLLY TO WHEEL MY TRAILER FROM THE BACKYARD TO MY TRUCK FOR HOOK-UP AND WHEN I COME HOME WITH MY RHINO I JUST PULL IN NORMALLY PARK THE RHINO OUT BACK AND GRAB THE DOLLY TO MOVE THE TRAILER AROUND BACK. SURE THE RHINO HAS A HITCH AND COULD PULL IT AROUND BACK BUT THE DOLLY MANUVERS THE TRAILER IN WAYS THE RHINO OR A TRUCK CAN'T AND IT'S SO QUICK AND CONVIENIENT. IF YOU AHVE A TRAILER YOU NEED THIS PRODUCT!

This is one of the best tools Iv'e purchased in the last few years. For one I didn't know they made them until I saw one in the Northen catalog. I can move my boat anywhere I want by myself and with ease. I was surprised to find I could move my boat up my driveway with no problem. I was moving my log splitter by hand the other day and thought about using the dolly. I hooked it up to the dolly and pulled it around to the backyard, it was like pulling an empty wagon. Again best tool Iv'e purchased in years.

I recently purchased a Trailer Dolly from Northern Tools. I have a 10 ft. trailer that I need to move around by myself and it's not easy. I noticed someone else around town using what I thought was a trailer dolly and thought to search the internet for one myself. I searched and Northern Tools was one of the places to come up on my search. I ordered it and got it in a very timely manor and tried it as soon as it was delivered and from the first time I used it, I was sold. It has been one of the best purchases I have made. It makes moving my trailer so easy. I can get it into tight spaces and move it as close to things as I want. It sits almost even with the hitch on my truck, so the only lifting I have to do it getting it onto the ball of my truck. The price at Northern Tools was also very reasonable. I searched other places before I purchased and found that Northern Tools was very reasonable. The was my first purchase from Northern Tools and I will definately be searching for more things that I may need in the future.

I purchased this trailer dolly to move small trailers around with out having to hook them up to my truck. This has been a huge time saver and also allowed me to put trailers inside my box trailer (using a winch) to move equipment to job sites using less trips.

If you get tired of bending over and moving your trailer by hand this is a great tool to take care of that. It's heavy duty and will handle any load you will want to move manually. Assembly was easy and straigh forward. The only problem I had was with the hitch ball that came with it. It fit one of my tailers but not the the other unless I adjusted the hitch and then I would have to adjust the hitch again to fit the ball on my truck. Simple fix especially since I had a spare hitch ball handy. All in all a very sturdy and handy tool.

I bought this to move my three rail dirt bike trailer around the yard. It works just like I had hoped. It not only saves my back, but gives me far better control than I ever had by lifting the tongue and pushing it around by hand. It's also much easier to slow the trailer down if it starts to get away from you (my yard is not very level). I would recommend this to anyone, the build quality is great, but as others have mentioned, watch out for the HEIGHT of the unit compared to you trailer, but for me, it was EXACTLY what I wanted and it works superbly!

This product is nicely made but needs much larger tires so the lift will be higher. This product as delivered is unusable for moving my boat around, unless I lower the trailer almost to the ground...If you have larger wheels for this dolly I would be interested in making a purchase of them...

At first glance, I had my doubts. But this dolly performed quite well. I used it moving a 5x10 utility trailer in a confined space loaded with construction scrape wood on ruff terrain and it did quite well.

If the tires were a bit larger, its operation would probably be a bit easier. All in All, I think it was worth the investment.

Saves my back for moving my SeaDoo from the driveway to the back yard. Well made and easy to assemble. Wider tires might make it a little easier to roll, and a taller height wouldn't hurt, but this was the best deal for the money and much cheaper than any others I found. It's easier to pull than push. I have a 2" hitch but the 1 7/8" works fine.

These devices work very well as trailer dolly... I also used this device to pull up metal snow fence stakes from the ground. I used a short metal chain and made a loop with a paddle lock and placed it over the ball of the dolly. I then wrapped the remaining amount of chain around the base of the fence stake. I pulled down on the handle bars and pryed out the stake with ease. This devise is strong and is a back saver...

this maneuverable little 'gem' makes childs play out of moving my 8x10 'work-shop' (trailer) in spaces way too tight to even think about getting a vehicle into & the large (10") pneumatic tires make minor surface irregularities 'no problem'. I received my order promptly and assembly is very easy. My trailer with the tools inside weighs very close to 1800 lbs. This is a must have item if you have a 'light' trailer and space is a factor. It gets the job done in short order!!

Real time saver and back saver when it comes to moving the trailers around the driveway. Only recommendation would be to put tubes in the tires so not to worry about low tire pressure. Using the tool makes it real easy to squeeze the trailers in tight quarters without the need for a flager (another person) or vehicle.

Delivery and shipping were very good. Assembly was straight forward. Pulling boat trailer forward worked very well. Howeve, turning trailer with dolley was difficult...inside wheel tended to collapse. I was disappointed in performance. Tongue weight of boat and trailer less than 200 lbs...dolley rated for 600 lbs. Did not perform as advertised. Very difficult to turn or manuever except straight forward or back. Save your money.

The problem of jockeying a light-duty flatbed trailer around the garage and my property, including areas where a moter vehicle cannot reach, was effectively solved with this hand-pulled trailer dolly.
The dolly was easy to assemble (less than 30 minutes) and works well. Since the trailer does not have a trailer jack, this also allows me to park my one-axle trailer with the nose off the ground for loading or storage.

This dolly is a requirement for all owners of light trailers. Makes manuevering a snap. Use it on a 7x12 enclosed motorcycle trailer, gives me peace of mind when trailering behind the RV that I'll always be able to park the trailer just where I want it.
Only thing that could be improved is having stronger wheel/tires, they flex and or cut when turning loaded.

I purchased the heavy duty trailer dolly to move my boat, an 18 foot Lund Mr. Pike, into and out of my storage garage. Since the approach is gravel, the single wheel on the front of the trailer was not working. The trailer dolly works great on the gravel and allows me to manuver the boat easily, even though the door is only 9 foot wide and the boat is 8.5 foot wide. Great product for moving trailers in tight spaces.
