Have a 13 yr old Jag XJS that quite often only gets driven about every 10 to 12 days----result, a dead battery!! The Battery MINDer has changed that..... it performs just as advertised and is well worth the money. Since the battery on this vehicle is in the trunk, I keep the Mattery MINDer in the trunk connected to the battery with the leads provided and an extension cord close by in my garage. Simple-to-use out of the box battery charger and maintainer, couldn't be easier. Works great for de-sulphating old batteries as well as maintaining or charging new batteries. I was able to renew an old sealed marine battery that had been sitting discharged for over 2 years. Took one month to de-sulphate and charge and battery has been working flawlessly for over three years now. Bought two more units and currently use them to maintain my motorcycle batteries outside, in winter temperatures down to -30F! It's not recommended, but nonetheless, it works. I like the soft switch on the unit for anytime de-sulphation. I haven't yet found a downside to the unit after several years.

I Purchased a VDC Electronics BatteryMinder Over a year ago in an effort to save a Trolling motor deep cycle battery that I was using on my boat that was not holding a charge as a result of sulphation I assumed, because the electrolyte would only measure a max of spg1125.
I attached the unit to the battery, the battery initially accepted a charge then the sulphation process began as the green light began to blink. After several weeks (during the winter months)the electrolyte measured spg1225. A noticable improvement. Before I put the battery in use, the specific gravity checked spg1300. Full charge, and it hold the charge as if it were new!
I have been so pleased with this unit I recently purchased another to leave on a vehicle that I keep in storage.
As a side note: VDC also provides a battery tester upon registration. Which I did not receive on the first unit. When I registered the second unit I mentioned this to the representative. She acknowleged a computer glitch at the time of the initial registration and sent me an additional tester.
Great unit! Great people to work with! What more could you ask?

This little device has saved me a fortune in motorcycle batteries... on the ONE bike that I have! It keeps the battery charged without any fuss or aggravation-- especially since it came with the cable that allows me to attach it permanently to the battery and connect/disconnect it easily any time to take the bike out. It has kept the current battery alive for 3 years. Two things to watch-- 1) never unplug it from AC and leave it attached to the battery-- The manual tells you this-- it WILL run the battery all the way down because of the LED that remains on when it's connected, 2) Don't drop it-- Common sense tells you this... but for the sake of info, the mass of the transformer, the fragile nature of the PCB inside, and the way one particular component is mounted lend it to breaking internally if it is dropped. But DON'T let those to 2 minor concerns keep you from getting what I consider one of my prize possessions in the garage! This product is outstanding, and I would HIGHLY recommend it. In fact, I would even buy one for a family member who also had an idle vehicle.... and I have.

Bought this for my corvette to maintain the battery because I keep it stored during the winter months. Every year I used to have to recharge the battery, sometimes several times while in storage. It is nice to purchase a product that does what is advertised. It will pay for itself in a season or 2 just in saved batteries not to mention the convience and simplicity of

Great product! Simple to use and instructions are clear. Saved 2 batteries (motorcycle and mower) that I had all but given up on in a couple of days time. The ad said it works on multiple batteries at once. Note that this means multiple batteries hooked up in line on the same piece of machinery (for example, charging a boat that has multiple batteries). One thing I would like to see is the ability to purchase extra quick connect cables, as it only comes with one. Small issues, though. This product paid for itself several times over in no time at all.

Have a bunch of cars, this is the only charger to have.
Went to battery school and this is the only way to go.
Have a car parked at the airport and use 2 times a year and sets for up to 6 months. Bought a new battery and parked the car for 3 months, dead battery. Took the car home and put it on this charger. A few hotrods only take out in the summer, NOT trailer queens.
There fast charge, slow charge, trickel charge, maintainer charge, But DESULFATER works like a charm. Not only bought 2 but buying one more.

battery minder will recover atv batterys that are completely dead hook a completely dead battery parallel with a good battery for a couple of days hooked to the battery minder then remove the good battery and leave until the battery minder goes into the maintence mode or until you need the battery. also battery minder left on small batteries to maintain them works great. hook up to 5 atv, lawnmower, watercraft batteries in parallel and forget them until needed. Its best if you bring all batteries to a full charge before hooking them in the group.

I have owned a VDC BatteryMINDer for several years and have used it on a marine battery and on a classic car that I owned in the past. Last spring I purchased a new Lund boat that has two very expensive marine batteries in it. Since I don't use the boat from October to April, I purchased another BatteryMINDer and hooked up the batteries in tandem as instructed in the literature, and both batteries are kept at full charge and ready for the new season. My old BatteryMINDer is busy keeping the battery on my Chevy Tahoe fully charged and ready to go now that I retired it from a daily driver to use only when I pull my boat or my large trailer. I wouldn't be without either of of my BatteryMINDers. They potentially save me a great deal of money on batteries.

After using the charger on a couple old batteries, it seems to bring some life back to them, and cranking speed seems to be quicker now after using the desulfating function. One battery caused some corrosion on one of the charger's clamps because the battery terminal wasn't clean.

We have instaslled a number of these small battery(tenders) on some of the cities fire trucks. They are used to keep the units starting batteries fully charge. Some the the trucks will sit for a week at a time between calls. It is the worst feeling in the world to turn the key and not have the truck start. We have used them for years trouble free and that is why we added them to the last two fire/rescue trucks.

This is my third one. The other two are on my "summer driver" cars and they have worked like a charm for several years. This one I purchased to keep 3 deep cycle marine batteries charged and fresh for next summer since one of these little puppies can be hooked up in parallel for multiple batteries. I have more expensive battery charger/maintainers and cheaper ones but none that have worked so well as these.

The battery minder keeps my battery at a full charge, but wont go into desulphation mode even when It is manually activated. I cant keep it plugged in more than 3 days without it going into desulphation mode or else it will damage the battery or the unit. So now I have to return it to vdc and try to get a new one.

I bought two of these and two "others" of a different brand from another company. Let me tell you the VDC's are MUCH better. They are easier to set up the directions are clearer. The BIG THING is their ability to "desulpher" a battery. It is worth the few dollars extra they cost over brand X. I plan to buy several more for the other batteries I have. I will even use them to start out on a battery then switch them to brand X.

Just boought my 3rd unit. Use them for a Jet Ski Battery, Boat Batteries (2 - wired together) and for a car battery. Just plug it in and your done. The units start automatic desulphator starts after about 24 hours (after it charges the battery) with the green light going from a solid state to a blinking state indicating the charge had been completed.

I bought the VDC unit hoping it would a better job at keeping up my stored batteries. My old 2/15 amp unit just wasn't doing it.

This charger not only float charges my car battery but also desulfates it too. I 200 amp. load tested the battery before using the charger and after. The difference was a 150 amp. increase in the 1000 amp. batteries capacity . I would highly recommend this product.

I had a Mobility Scooter I had won at a silent auction to raise money for a fisherman who had been maimed in an accident. Eighteen months ago we loaned the scooter to a friend recovering from a knee operation. It was returned and has since sat unused. We needed to get it running again but the on-board charger would not recharge the fully discharged batteries. I had looked at a number of battery chargers and bought and returned one because I was concerned about their ability to charge AGM batteries. I haven't done this stuff since HS physics and did not want to blow up the house!
I got the Battery Minder, followed the included instructions. Worried that I might have to wait a week to recondition the batteries. However, my anxieties were for nothing. Within 48 hours both batteries were back in service. The scooter was running like a champ, and the onboard charger was topping them off. You never know how tough it is to get around until you cannot get around!
I was surprised in the list of uses that mobility scooters were not included. We are all getting older, and even a youngster with an ACL can appreciate a scooter in lieu of crutches!

My 3 year old has a hand me down battery powered jeep that didn't run as long as it should. He would maybe get 30minutes and need to charge again. I have used this on my motorcycle battery and thought I would give it a try on the little battery jeep. It takes some time to desulfate batteries. Don't think it will do it overnight but after several weeks of use the batteries are now running quite good. The jeep will run for more than an hour now. This product works well if you have the time to wait for it to do its job. It did save me buying new batteries and by that more than paid for itself.

I purchases the Batteryminder to be used on the Quad that I own. The amount of times I get to use the quad just doesn't keep the battery up on the charge. I connected the BatteryMinder to it as instructed and when ever I go to use the quad it fires right away. I keep it connected all the time like it says and it keeps the battery plates desulfacated and in prime condition. I have recommended this product to three of my friends with quads and they are as happy as I am with theBatteryMinder. This product will charge you battery and maintain it (by continuously charging it); but does it actually do a better job of electrolyzing lead sulphate back into lead and sulphuric acid? I doubt it, but I haven't run the experiment.

Product indicates, via capitalization in the name, that it has a mind, which it doesn't, so don't buy this product thinking you are going to get some companionship out of it.

Worth their weight in gold. I have had many battery tenders / minders in use through the years. I keep 8 batteries on these devices all winter long and some throughout the year (full size tractor, ATV, antique auto, lightly used truck, riding mowers, tow behind mowers, etc.). This unit is the best I have found. I would recommend you spend a few more dollars and make all of your battery tender / minders this unit ... be it one unit or lots of units.

The fact that is has a full function LED display is worth the price. You can see if it is connected correctly, charging, maintaining (desulfinating), or not in use.

We bought this because we have a dump trailer that gets used about once every two weeks and we don't tow it far enough to keep the battery charged for the hydraulics.

So far, this charger has done everything that we've needed. We really like the in-line disconnect feature. That way anyone can connect the charger. We don't have to worry about someone connecting it wrong!

The cord could be a little-bit longer for the charger half, but the battery end is the perfect length for us. We plan on buying another one for a truck that we have that also gets driven infrequently.

I am an electrical engineer and have spent many hours searching for a truly safe and effective maintenance charger for use on standby generators, battery-powered sump pumps, and other devices that have little to do most of the time. But they must work when the time comes. I also needed a good charger to use when leaving a car for months in tropical heat. In the tropics, it's practically a "given" that a battery left in an idled car for three or four months will be found dead upon returning. The answer was the BatteryMINDer. It is not a simple-minded "trickle charger." It's a sophisticated little multi-stage temperature-compensated desulphating charger. I have owned, or purchased for my employer, or caused others to purchase something like 10 of these units. I have seen them take old half-capacity deep discharge marine batteries and restore them to former glory. I have seen many a battery murdered by "maintenance" chargers built into stationary machines like standby generators. I have never seen the end of life of a battery maintained by one of these BatteryMINDers. I'm pleased to see that VDC is now making an 8 amp version and I intend to buy one. I know how this system works and I could duplicate it myself but not with the lovely packaging. It's more than worth your money.

Used this unit to keep a battery charged in an auto that is rarely used. It was easy to install. It charged the battery and is now holding the charge.
