This product works as advertized. This makes smoking, and slow cooking large cuts a no brainer.
No more letting all the heat out while checking the temp. The auto temp settings are on the high side, but the with the manual temp settings you can set it to your taste. The wireless range is also exellent.

I got this to use with our new Traeger Grill & now I wouldn't want to grill without it. On any piece of meat large enough to stick the probe in securely it not only keeps me from having to lift the lid (and LOSE LOTS OF HEAT making grilling time longer) to check the status of the meat, but I know exactly when it is done without cutting into it or guessing & needing to return things to the grill or have them dry & overdone. I can keep the Monitor with me, so I don't have to stay outside beside the grill & can be in the kitchen finishing side dishes or just relaxing. Of course my Traeger is also the best & I don't have to worry about flare-ups & uneven heat EVER, so they are a perfect pair.
Only CON was me not thinking & trying to transport meat with probe still attached through doors to the kitchen & burned my hand on the wire near the probe which was still HOT (DUH!) I now use a mitt or remove the probe with a pair of tongs first, to make things safer & easier.

This thermometer just works wonderfully. It tells you the temperature, and alerts you when the meat is almost done and when it's done. There are presets for different kinds of meat and different levels of doneness. Besides just beeping to alert you, it actually speaks to you in your language of choice! This has a great range. I use my grill next to the driveway in front of my house, and I can travel anywhere in my house, even the kitchen in the back of the house, and I haven't yet found the maximum range of the remote, because it always works.

My wife got me this for our anniversary and I just love it. Plus it is made by Oregon Scientific & it's wireless. So I can watch the games or the & cooking shows with out having to run out every couple of minutes to check my food.
