I bought this for my dad for Christmas and he called me the other day to let me know he has used it for the first time and it worked wonderfully!! Worked so well my grandpa wants one now....

Normal briquets require holding the unit against several areas, 15 minutes total, before the BBQ is lit sufficiently to sustain itself. Then it takes another several minutes before grilling can start.
On the plus side, it is safe and surer than shoving newspaper in charcoal cylinders.
