It measures room temperature, dew point and relative humidity and provides an audio/visual alarm when humidity exceeds 65%. Mold can grow any time the relative humidity exceeds 65%, so keeping humidity in your home below 50% can prevent a lot of damage from mold, mildew dust mites and other bacteria that like it moist. Requires 2 AA batteries (not included).

I got this product to keep a check on moisture in my home as I am concerned about mold. It gave me peace of mind but I can use it to monitor if air conditioning or heat or use of fans is changing the air conditions as needed. I want to avoid mold. I move it around to all the rooms and the basement to keep tabs on the moisture levels. I like that it is so easy to move around and measures temp and humidity and percentage.

Use this monitor to double check the monitor on my dehumidifier. Both are pretty much in synch, so I am happy with this product. Would definitely buy again
